How can I nail my audition?

1. Preparation.
LEARN the audition piece, days if not weeks before. Understand what the words mean, and what the character wants. If it's not clear from the piece itself, research the character. If there's no information about the character available, MAKE IT UP. Making bold choices will always impress the panel, even if it's not the choice they are looking for.
2. Practise.
Rehearse the audition piece as often as possible. OUT LOUD. We all sound amazing in our head, but practising out loud will force you to find the character's voice and help stabilise your nerves.
3. Relax.
Arrive early, breathe deeply. Audition panels just want to find the right person, they want you to do well.
4. Positivity.
Believe you can do it, see yourself in the role. Manifesting will never hurt your chances.
5. Fake it.
You WILL be nervous, everyone is. Auditions are false environments, so act confident even if you don't feel it. Your positive energy will be important to the room.
6. Be nice.
The panel will want to know if you are someone they want to work with. Smile and greet them when you walk in.
7. Be prepared to change your ideas.
The panel may ask you to work the piece in a completely different way than you rehearsed. Make sure you haven't locked into a certain way of doing it.
And remember – there can be only one person per role. If you don't get it, try not to think of it as a failure. Think of every audition as a learning experience.
You got this!
Awesome advice. Love it.
